I’m often asked how I get my smoothies to be the perfect consistency. Here’s my secret: sweet potato.

I guess it’s not really a secret, since I’ve already shared this recipe with you (PS if you have not tried this recipe yet, you should do so ASAP! It is easily one of the best recipes I’ve ever created).

The smoothie I am sharing with you today is the perfect consistency and tastes somewhat like raspberry cheesecake… if you were to throw it in a blender, that is.

All you need is a few ingredients (like most of my recipes) and you’ll be able to enjoy this smoothie within just a few minutes!

I don’t include toppings in this recipe, but here a few of my favourite toppings that pair perfectly with this smoothie:

Shredded coconut

Fresh or frozen raspberries

Cereal

Cacao nibs or shaved dark chocolate

Silky Sweet Potato & Raspberry Smoothie

Ingredients

1 Japanese sweet potato/Asian yam, cooked then cooled (about the size of your fist/one cup mashed)

1/2 cup frozen raspberries

1 tbsp cacao powder

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla cashew milk (may need more, depending on your blender)

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Use more cashew milk in necessary.
  2. Top with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
