I finally finished my second book of 2020, Little Fires Everywhere, by Celeste Ng.

I honestly don’t think it’s ever taken me this long to read a book – the first 3/4 of the book were really slow moving, but I kept reading because I was holding so much hope for this book.

It is on Reese Witherspoon’s book club list and has received so many amazing reviews, so I refused to stop reading it. Also, Celeste Ng writes so beautifully that, although I found the first 3/4 of this book really slow, I enjoyed Celeste Ng’s writing far too much to not read the entire book.

Another thing that kept me reading was the characters. The characters are all beautifully developed and I really fell in love with them, which is always so important for me when it comes to reading a novel – I want to love the characters!

Things start to pick up in the last 1/4 of the book and I’m so happy I committed to reading the whole book because, by the end of it, I couldn’t help but think what a great book it was, despite the slow start.

I think things would have been different if I went into this book knowing it wasn’t a fast paced read, which is the type of novel I usually opt for. So, if you choose to read this book, it is a really great read, but just know it’s not fast paced, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Overall, I would recommend this book.
