This is a recipe I’ve been making for years.
If you don’t already know, I’ve had a recipe/food/lifestyle blog since about 2010. It all started when I moved away to university and began making recipes in my dorm room. I had no stove or oven, but I did have access to a microwave and counter space, so I got really creative and made some pretty amazing meals, which I posted pictures of on Facebook. Then, after receiving several requests to begin a food/recipe blog, I did!
But, like I said, I’ve been making this recipe for years and, when I shared it in the past, it quickly became my most popular recipe.
In the version I am sharing with you today, I’ve added frozen cauliflower, which is how I’ve been making it recently.
The reason why I love adding frozen cauliflower to my smoothies is not only the fact that it allows me to get more veggies into my day, but it just adds to the thickness of this smoothie!
I’ve personally never tried a Wendy’s Frosty before, but I’m going to say this is like the real-food version of a Wendy’s Frosty.
It’s thick and milkshake consistency, so be prepared to eat it with a spoon (which is exactly how I love my smoothies!) If you’re not like me and prefer to drink your smoothies, add more liquid (but it is better for your digestion if you can eat your smoothies!)
You can also play around with the toppings, topping it with whatever you’d like, but my favourite toppings for this smoothie in particular lately has been chopped organic strawberries (the strawberries I’ve been buying from Costco lately are like delicious goblets of sugar!) and cacao nibs. I love topping my smoothies with cacao nibs as they add such a nice chocolate-y crunch! Is there anything better? No. There isn’t.
I hope you enjoy this smoothie as much as I do! And if adding frozen cauliflower to your smoothie freaks you out, I promise you can’t even taste it! You’ll soon become addicted to adding frozen veggies to your smoothie, too!
Oh, I forgot to mention…
This smoothie actually doesn’t have any fruit in it!
If you try my recipes and share them on social media, don’t forget to tag me on Instagram at @iammegdoll so I can see what you’re making! I love connecting with you over on IG!
